Melbourne

Melbourne French Theatre May and September
The French theatre in Melbourne gives bi-annual performances in French with English subtitles. The company can also organise school excursions, and holds readings and workshops. 

Worth the constant visit to Saint Kilda for ongoing events. The Alliance Française puts on intimate music concerts, art exhibitions, and holds a French Christmas market and Beaujolais Nouveau festival every year. Also worth visiting the library if you live far from Camberwell library (which holds an excellent collection as it's next door to the bilingual school!). 

The most French of festivals, bringing together local French businesses and celebrating French culture. Held over a weekend (Fri - Sun) in the spectacular grounds of Como House in South Yarra. $7 - $22.50 per ticket.

So Frenchy So Chic Concert in the Park Mid-January (one day)
Ramp up a lazy Sunday listening and dancing to French music at Werribee Mansion. Children under 12 are free to attend, and you can lay down a rug and bring a picnic. Approx. $80 - $110 per ticket.

Bastille Day celebrations Weekend around the 14th July
This year, the festival will be at the Federation Square in the CBD with a low entry fee. There are plenty of events to book in advance, or wander the local French stores and French food.

Sydney

The theatre puts on many shows by the company, theatre students and school kids. They also run drama courses and theatre workshops.

Brisbane

Alliance Française Brisbane
The Alliance is a great way to keep in touch with French events in and around Brisbane. They hold great art exhibitions teamed with the important stuff... French wine. They also have French storytime for les petits enfants!

Held at Kurrawa Park, this festival brings together dance, music, food, and drink... a real celebration of French culture!

Hobart/Launceston

A small organisation to keep in touch with for information on French cultural events in your area.

The Alliance in Launceston hosts several French cultural events each year, such as 'pique-nique et pétanque'.  Keep in touch with the organisation to find out about upcoming events.

Held over one week in Hobart, the French Film Festival showcases the biggest films to come out of French cinema.


Canberra

The Alliance in Canberra hold plentiful events, including conversation clubs, book clubs, cultural exhibitions, and a multicultural festival.

Perth

Being the French cultural centre of Perth, the Alliance holds events for adults such as wine tasting, conversation clubs and cultural presentations. For the little ones, there are several film screenings a year.

Darwin
